2000 Sydney Olympics
Competing in the Olympic Games was a dream come true for Kevin. He started the tournament with a dominating 12-5 win over the 1999 World Silver Medalist Koi from Korea. The second match was close with Kevin losing on criteria in overtime to Magni from Italy. Kevin was leading 2-0 at the end of regulation (you must score 3 points for the match to end in regulation) and went into overtime. Magni tied the score at 2 in overtime and won by a ref's decision. Koi then defeated Magni giving Kevin the pool win and and advancement to the quarter-finals.

Kevin wrestled Samurgashev from Russia in his quarter-final match. With the score 5-4 with 30 seconds left, a flurry of activity concluded with Kevin losing 11-5. The tough loss put Kevin in the fifth place bout with the Russian going on to win the Gold medal.

The Olympic Games came to a close with Kevin taking 6th place in Sydney. Kevin lost the fifth place match to Bakhodir from Uzbekhistan.      View Kevin's Olympic Photo Gallery
