Kevin's wrestling career began in seventh grade as a native on the south-side of Chicago. His father Bill, and brother Billy were major influences on his decision to begin wrestling. In Kevin's second year of wrestling he qualified for the Kids State Tournament. Today, Kevin talks to young kids encouraging them to continue wrestling even if they do not achieve success at an early age (not placing in the kid's state tournament). Kevin continues to give his time back to the kids by putting on clinics for them (see below).
